I love the warmth of gold combined with bold coloured gemstones and cool silver. With these wonderful materials I try to create interesting, individual, detailed and wearable pieces.Jewellery and jewellery-making are essentially very personal and I have always been intrigued by the old-fashioned locket as a means of keeping a momento. Recently I have experimented with more contemporary versions of this old idea. Thumbnail photographs or images from a contact sheet for example have a jewel-like quality and set in a cufflink or bracelet are not immediately recognisable as pictures. I have made simple and bold necklaces where the image is slid into a frame and worn upfront, visable for all. Others conceal the image in a more secretive way, both allow the wearer to carry a beautiful memory. Current Exhibition
